Training Your Puppy
Training your pet while they are still a pup is very important and is a vital stage in their developement into a mature obediant dog. Though puppies may be a little more spunky than an adult or adolecent dog, its typically easier to train a dog at a young age because they have yet to form any bad habits they may have picked up as they mature.
But don't get me wrong, training a puppy is not an easy task. Due to their higher energy levels puppies are much harder to keep focused, and therefor require you to have more patience with them when training. This is why its best to keep training sessions short and to the point. Be sure to keep their training lessons fun, you don't want your puppy to avoid their training.
Again you need to keep your puppy entertained while training. If in a group training class be sure to let them play around with the other puppies in the class when appropriate. A well trained dog interacts with other dogs in a friendly manner. By allowing your puppy to have fun with the other puppies you helping them to discover appropriate boundaries. An over aggressive puppy will learn quickly how far is too far when they get an angry reaction from another puppy or pet owner.
Remember that puppies are very impressionable. The way they are trained and the things they learn during this time can change your dogs personality for better or for worse.
